Hypertronics “Fixed/Fixed” coaxial connectors are designed for board to board applications incorporating the legendary Hypertac® COAXTAC® contact technology.  The unique COAXTAC contact consists of a double, coaxial Hypertac configuration within each contact.  While Hypertac hyperboloid contact technology offers the basket of wires design allowing for 360° of contact, low insertion/extraction forces and an extremely long mating cycle life, the COAXTAC enhances the design to provide a greater performance in critical RF applications.

The Fixed/Fixed connector technology offers the benefit of enabling a unique male contact pin to float about its base rear tail, which is firmly terminated to a PCB, and mate to a fixed female COAXTAC contact with a 0.25mm central axis offset. This allows for PCB-to-PCB connections with minimal wear and removes the need to design float into the insulators eliminating additional cost and complexity.

This design provides ease-of-maintenance benefits as well as cost savings in applications requiring the ultra reliability found with the COAXTAC technology in a PCB form factor. By integrating COAXTAC contact technology, the Fixed/Fixed connector provides RF connections with a frequency range up to 18Ghz, reinventing the meaning of performance.
