ImplanTac™ Contact Technology

Hypertronics ImplanTac™ socket contacts are made of bio-compatible materials for use in implantable medical devices where reliability, dependability and ease of use are critical. Such applications include pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, neurostimulators, metabolic controls, circulation pumps, bone growth stimulators and pain management devices.

ImplanTac highly reliable implantable contact solutions are based on the low-force, low resistance Hypertac® contact technology and are designed to resist the vulnerability and problems that other interconnect technologies experience during mating.

With customizable ImplanTac contacts, medical device manufacturers with critical applications are guaranteed reliable, high performance interconnect solutions for applications in which malfunction or failure is life threatening.

ImplanTac contacts allow surgeons to easily mate implanted leads into devices without misalignment, damage to the system, or risk to the patient. Specialty mating tools are no longer needed and unnecessary applied pressure to the patient is avoided during the mating process making invasive procedures safer. Use of the ImplanTac solution minimizes the costs and risks that are associated with these procedures.

Typical implanted devices are encapsulated in a housing then implanted into the body cavity. Electrical leads are connected to the device, and directly to the patient’s body, during a surgical procedure. The leads monitor and apply electrical energy based on sensory inputs; therefore the connection between the leads and the device must be of the ultimate reliability.
